Watching and Sharing Videos from YouTube to iTunes

YouTube is currently the largest online video resource. Since it begin in 2005, it continuously and exponentially grew out to be the giant it is today. It has over billions of videos uploaded in its server and the numbers of videos are increasing day by day. What is in there is not the right question to ask? The question should be “What is not in there”? You can find almost any video there. It can be game, documentary, TV show and movie trailers, scenes, cut scenes, making-of, sneak peek, interviews, take out, discussion or it can be advertisements, tutorials, lessons, news, homemade videos, music videos, songs etc. The list can go on like forever. Categorizing billions of videos is not an easy task after all. The point is you can find any video in that website and watch it for free.

Now, how about watching it offline on your portable devices such as iPhone, iPad or iPod? You cannot do that. For some videos you can though. The reason is that YouTube mostly uses FLV (Flash Video) video format. For higher resolution videos it uses MP4 (MPEG-4) video format. iPhone, iPod or iPad requires iTunes to import videos in them. iTunes supports only MP4, MOV and M4V video files. For that reason only higher resolution videos from YouTube can be imported to iTunes. What about the lower resolution ones? Most of the videos in YouTube does not have higher resolution version. And moreover higher resolution versions take up a lot of space and space is scarce in portable devices. So you need some way to import YouTube to iTunes.

The easiest way is to convert the YouTube videos into MP4 files that iTunes recognize. To do that you can use Video Converter for Mac by iSkysoft. It is a powerful video converter which is easy to handle. It supports lots of video formats, not only MP4. There are optimized presets for different devices which makes your task even easier. You can just choose to convert for the specific Apple products that you are using. In case of iTunes, you won’t get iTunes option but you will get the specific name of the Apple device you are using. Once converted that same file can be imported to and through iTunes as well. You can get it here:http://www.micmc.com/lights/led-mining-lights/mining-lights.html
Alternately you can use a specialized tool called iTube Studio for Mac. This software helps you download the videos from YouTube as well. Other video sharing sites like Facebook, TNT, and Google Video etc. are supported as well. Once downloaded, you can convert YouTube to iTunes right from there. You can also integrate the software with Safari. If you do that you can start download videos before they are fully loaded because it can detect videos in Safari pages. You also can convert the videos in some other formats as well. As FLV format is not supported directly in Mac, this software, iTube Studio for Mac includes a FLV player using which you can view your downloaded videos in Mac. For both software you can use the trial version first. Later you can purchase it.
